The exhibition features a selection of works from various annual AJDC Design Projects from the very first theme, in 1996 to 2013. Annually, the council asks each of its members to create a design project, interpreting a single concept or theme; the final product is a collection of unique jewelry pieces joined by a solitary concept. Past themes include simple conceptual elements such as “Water”, “Spiral”, “Ice”, and “Flight” imagined into breathtaking masterpieces made of precious metals, gemstones and unexpected materials.

Designer Events at JA New York

MJSA (Manufacturing Jewelers and Suppliers of America) and JA New York have teamed up to provide designer-focused events at the upcoming JA New York show! Each of these events is free, and provides benefits from mentoring to manufacturing tours to hearing directly from retailers what they look for in a collection!

Casting Facility and Workshop Tour

Cindy Edelstein originated these workshop tours many years ago, and we want to continue the tradition in her honor and for your benefit.

Andrea Hill and Raymond Hakimi will take you on an MJSA-sponsored tour of Carrera Casting in the jewelry district in Manhattan. This is an opportunity to gain insight about outsourcing your jewelry designs to manufacturing partners. Throughout the tour we will answer all your production questions.

The Big Pitch

This event was created by Cindy Edelstein several years ago to get designers in front of retailers. Designers pitch their collection to a panel of retailers and editors, as well as answer questions that give retail buyers insight into each designer's creative process. You are invited to come observe and learn from your designer peers and the retailers you want to sell to!
